Diego Cohen
Senior Software Engineer at NYPL
I'm a software engineer based in New York City specializing in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Next.js, Ruby on Rails, PHP, GraphQL, Sass/CSS, Drupal, and WordPress. Since 2015, I've been building and modernizing web platforms, currently at the New York Public Library. In my spare time, I compose music and contribute to various passion projects including Screen Slate. I'm drawn to collaborating on work that's thoughtfully built and designed to last.
About me
I'm a software engineer based in New York City specializing in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Next.js, Ruby on Rails, PHP, GraphQL, Sass/CSS, Drupal, and WordPress.
I currently work full time at the New York Public Library as a Senior Software Engineer, where I led the rebuild of the Research Catalog in Next.js and the Drupal 10 modernization of NYPL.org Events. I've also built out custom Drupal CMS tooling and editor-friendly admin interfaces there, streamlining content workflows for the editorial team.
I previously worked full time at Teachable, and have also built and migrated Drupal websites for NYC-based arts nonprofits including Screen Slate and Blank Forms, and many other clients during my years as an Acquia-Certified Drupal engineer at Digital Pulp.
Outside of software, I studied composition at Oberlin Conservatory, play in various music projects, and am particularly interested in electronics and improvisation.
